Try Me by Diane Alberts
(Take a Chance #1)
Synopsis:
What happens in Vegas…can lead to romance.
It took one wild night for Sergeant Jeremy Addison to realize that Vegas? Was a bad idea.
Bloody. Bruised. Dehydrated. Abandoned in the desert, and left to stagger down the road. The only way this leave could get worse was if his savior was his ex-best friend’s sister…and the girl he’d loved since childhood.
The last person Erica expected to find on the roadside was her high school crush. She hadn't seen Jeremy in seven years—ever since the night he said he loved her, and she ran away. Losing him then had been a mistake, but wanting him now could be catastrophic if he discovered the secret that chased every other man from her life. But with a tall, tattooed Marine determined to prove he’s always been faithful, can Erica resist his advances…or will she surrender ground and give love a try?
My Thoughts:
This one was a short one. So few pages and so much story to tell. I discovered this one in listopia-land. It had a lot of great reviews, so obviously I had to read it. And I love short stories, it makes me feel like I read a lot in a short amount of time. I'm weird, I know :)
I was glad that we got some back story between the 3 characters because it just starts out and we really don't know what's going on. There really was a lot of sexual tension between Erica and Jeremy, and I kept waiting for them to do something about it...
Overall it was a good story. I wish it was a bit longer and had them doing more stuff like in their daily lives. Because I feel like I didn't really get to know the characters. With the exception of the epilogue (obviously), the story takes places over a few days, and it's pretty much only when they're together and talking. So I feel like a lot was left out. Even though all the important stuff was included, it made me feel like it was a little unfinished.
The epilogue was beautiful and I knew it was going to be. That's the one thing that every review talks about. I didn't really expect them to be in that situation, but it certainly fit the story and was a really great ending. It just makes me wonder what is to come? Since this is #1 in the series. The epilogue kind of finished it off.... If you know what I mean...
And I love the cover too! Dude on the front is hot! And I love how the title and the author's name are tattoos on his body. That is really creative! And let's face it, if a book isn't by a well known author or really popular publishing company, the cover is usually crappy, but this one is gorgeous!!
So I say read it! It's worth your time and it really is a good story, I'm looking forward to reading the next book in the series, I'd like to know what else happens with them :) And I'm looking forward to reading more by Diane Alberts.

ooh this one is on my tbr list already I think. Didn't notice it was a short one which on the one hand is great because it makes it a fast read but at the same time they always leave me wanting more or feeling like something was missed just as you mentioned above. Ill probably read it eventually though :) Thanks for the review.
