Book Review: The Future of Us by Jay Asher

It's 1996, and Josh and Emma have been neighbors their whole lives. They've been best friends almost as long - at least, up until last November, when Josh did something that changed everything.

Things have been weird between them ever since, but when Josh's family gets a free AOL CD in the mail, his mom makes him bring it over so that Emma can install it on her new computer. When they sign on, they're automatically logged onto their Facebook pages.

But Facebook hasn't been invented yet. And they're looking at themselves fifteen years in the future. By refreshing their pages, they learn that making different decisions now will affect the outcome of their lives later. And as they grapple with the ups and downs of what their futures hold, they're forced to confront what they're doing right - and wrong - in the present.

My Thoughts:
I straight up devoured this book. I couldn't read it fast enough. I actually read this book back in May, around the time I started my blog, but somehow never wrote a review on it. I don't remember all the little things, but I remember how this book made me feel.

It was a really fast read for me. I loved how when I was reading this book, it mad me think about the past and how much things have changed since I was a teen. This is really an original idea. Now days everybody is so into social media sites. Especially Facebook, I only know a few people who don't have one. And I remember what it was like before Myspace and Facebook, and I couldn't even imagine going on my old Windows 95 and finding Facebook.

I loved Josh and Emma. They really were cute together, even though just friends. They seemed like people I would want to be friends with. And I liked that they had known each other their whole lives, instead of just for a few years. It really put more depth into the story. And made their experience with Facebook and their futures more meaningful to explore together.

It did get a little repetitive towards the last third of the book, but it picked back up and didn't bother me much more. I liked their adventure with all of the stuff that went on. I was a really great story. The ending was left a little open. But I'm fine with that, I used my imagination to fill in what I wanted to happen. Or how I think everyone ended up.

Overall this was a great book, I really love Jay Asher, I think he's an amazing author. I gave this book four stars on Goodreads, and I think that everyone should read it!

Have you read anything
by Jay Asher before?
Did you read The Future

Top Ten Books That Should Be Movies

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly
meme held over at The Broke and the Bookish

This weeks Top Ten Tuesday topic is a rewind!
You can pick any past topic that you might have
missed or one that you just  want to do again!

I picked the top ten books you think should be made into movies. This was the topic on April 12, 2011. My blog wasn't created or even thought of back then. And this is a fun subject for me. I'm always thinking if I would want it to be made into a movie or not. I think that one question is what really makes up my final decision if I should put it on my favorites list or not. And I'm obviously talking about a world where the movie would be made my way and be exactly like the book and feel just like how it played out in my head while reading it.

I haven't finished Shatter Me and What's Left of Me yet, but I'm pretty far in and I know I'm going to love the ending, and hopefully the full series for both. Looking for Alaska wasn't that great to me, but I think it would actually be a pretty good movie. All the rest I just really loved and most are on my favorites list! :)

Now I'm going to insert a few that I would want to become movies and they actually are becoming movies. I can't wait for these!

Top Ten Book Romances That Would Make It In Real Life

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly
meme held over at The Broke and the Bookish
This week's topic is the Top Ten book romances
that you think would make it in the real world.

1. Abby & Travis from Beautiful Disaster. --With all the crap that happened in this book, I'm positively sure they could make it in the real world. And this is a great book. It's my newest fav. You must read it!

2. Eva & Gideon from Bared to You. --I just started this book a few days ago, but I can already tell that their relationship is going to be effing epic! I'm already addicted to it!

3. Tris & Four from Divergent & Insurgent. --Like seriously?! Why do I even have to explain this one?! If you've read it, you know. If you haven't.... what are you waiting on?? Their love is just fabulous. I don't have any other way to say it..

4. Josh & Emma from The Future of Us. --I knew from the beginning of this book that I was gonna love them. And I did.

So atm, I could only think of 4. And if they're not in my brain right now, then they're not worth mentioning. Right?! So my list will just have to end here.

And I know I'm putting this up a day late. I've just been super busy lately. And I'm trying to keep track of what I need to post. I'll get it all figured out today!

And if you did a TTT, leave a comment and a link to yours :)

Have a great day everyone!
