He walked off ahead of me. Studying him carefully, I realized I couldn't let the opportunity go by. I leapt at his back, positioning myself exactly the way he'd taught me. I had the element of surprise. Everything was perfect, and he wouldn't even see me coming.

Before I could make contact, he spun around at a ridiculously high speed. In one deft motion, he grabbed me like I weighed nothing and threw me to the ground, pinning me there. I groaned. "I didn't do anything wrong!"

His eyes looked levelly into mine as he held my wrists, but he didn't look as serious as he had during the lesson. He seemed to find this funny. "The battle cry sort of gave you away. Try not to yell next time."

"Would it have really made a difference if I'd been quiet?"

He thought about it. "No. Probably not."

I sighed loudly, still in too much of a good mood to really let this disappointment get me down. There were some advantages to having such a kick-ass mentor -one who also happened to have a foot of height on me and outweighed me considerably. And that wasn't even considering his strength. He wasn't bulky but his body had a lot of hard, lean muscle. If I could ever beat him, I could beat anyone.

All of a sudden, it occurred to me that he was still holding me down. The skin on his fingers was warm as he clutched my wrists.

His face hovered inches from my own, and his legs and torso were actually pressing against mine. Some of his long brown hair hung around his face, and he appeared to be noticing me too, almost like he had that night in the lounge. And oh God, did he smell good. Breathing became difficult for me, and it had nothing to do with the workout or my lungs being crushed.

This week my swoon comes from Bared to You.

So, here it is:

"Romance isn't in my repertoire,
Eva. But a thousand ways to make
you come are. Let me show you."

The car slowed to a halt. He
withdrew the key from the panel
and the doors opened.

I backed into the corner and
shooed him out with a flick of
my wrist. "I'm really not interested."

"We'll discuss." Cross caught me
by the elbow and gently, but insistently,
urged me out.

I went along because I liked
the charge I got from being around
him and because I was curious to
see what he had to say when
afforded more than five minutes
of my time.

He was buzzed through the security
door so quickly there was no need
for him to break stride. The pretty
redhead at the reception desk pushed
hastily to her feet, about to impart
some information until he shook his
head impatiently. Her mouth snapped
shut and she stared at me as we
passed at a brisk pace, her eyes wide.

Need (Finding Anna Book #2) by Sherri Hayes
Goodreads -- TWCS Publishing House This week my swoon comes from 'Need' by Sherri Hayes. I took it from chapter 1, I didn't want to give anything away, since this is the second book. In this excerpt you can see how much Stephan really cares for Brianna just by how soft and calm and tender he is.

I cupped her face with both of my hands. "You don't have to make any decisions right now, Brianna. I won't force you into this. It has to be your choice."

She closed her eyes briefly. When they opened again, they were glistening, and a single tear fell down her cheek. My mouth opened and pressed against her skin, capturing the moisture. The salty taste lingered on my tongue.

Brianna's lips parted as she sucked in a deep breath. My senses registered her reaction, and I felt the pull I had felt so many times before. Tilting her face up with the pads of my thumbs, I moved my lips down to within a breath of her own. "I want to kiss you, Brianna."

She didn't answer me so I remained where I was. She tilted her head, bringing her mouth closer to mine almost unconsciously.

"Do you want me to kiss you?" I whispered.

"Yes," she said, her breath ghosting across my lips.

A second after the word left her mouth my lips were covering hers. My fingers wrapped around her scalp, moving her head to give me the best access. Her lips parted and I took advantage.

The taste of her against my tongue drove me on. Ever so slowly, I explored every inch of her mouth. The mouth of the woman I hoped to one day make completely and solely mine.

This is my first ever Swoon Thursday! It seems like a really great and fun idea! On with the book! It just so happens that when something really epic happens, or something a character says that makes me feel a certain way -- I always take a screenshot (I mostly read e-books.) I'm actually on the third and final book in this trilogy, but this was the first thing in this series that made me SWOON!

The book is Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L. James. Also, these books have a lot of "sexy times" just in case you didn't already know. However, I picked a clean scene! I remember thinking "OMG, he has so much power and authority! Ooooooo!" He's so strong and handsome and rich and powerful (yes, I said it twice) and the list can go on forever! I instantly fell in love with Christian Grey! Onto the swooning!

Christian Grey is asking me on a date. He's asking
if you want a coffee. Maybe he thinks you haven't
woken up yet, my subconscious whines at me in
a sneering mood again. I clear my throat, try-
ing to control my nerves.

"I have to drive everyone home," I murmur
apologetically, twisting my hands and fingers
in front of me.

"TAYLOR," he calls, making me jump.
Taylor, who had been retreating down the cor-
ridor, turns and heads back toward us.

"Are they based at the university?" Grey
asks, his voice soft and inquiring. I nod, too
stunned to speak.

"Taylor can take them. He's my driver. We
have a large 4x4 here, so he'll be able to take
the equipment, too."

"Mr Grey?" Taylor asks when he reaches
us, giving nothing away.

"Please, can you drive the photographer,
his assistant, and Miss Kavanagh back home?"

"Certainly, sir," Taylor replies.

"There. Now can you join me for coffee?"

Grey smiles as if it's a done deal.
