Movie Review: Twilight Breaking Dawn Part 2

After the birth of Renesmee, the Cullens gather other vampire clans in order to protect the child from a false allegation that puts the family in front of the Volturi.

Ahhhh. This really is a bittersweet ending! Thinking back to when Twilight first came out, these movies have come a long, long way. So let's go back in time for a minute: I had never heard of the books until the first movie was being made and everyone started talking about it. So I jumped on the wagon and got all of them. In my opinion, the first one was amazing! I couldn't get enough of Bella and Edward. And then came New Moon, it was good, but their story got old. I suppose because nothing major was happening. And then when I started Eclipse I was really hoping that Stephenie Meyer had picked it up and would really put something into it, but sadly, she didn't. So when I decided I had to read Breaking Dawn to finish off the series, I knew it would be crap. Unfortunately I never finished it. I read probably about 1/4 the way through.

When the movies came out I said I would watch all of them and hope that they were better than the books and I did. I never expected to love the movies this much! I didn't like Kristen Stewart at first, but eventually I realized that she's the perfect Bella. And Edward... Ahhhhh! I love him! But I am truly a Jacob fan. I am 100% Team Jacob.

So I am very sorry that I never read Breaking Dawn because this movie was simply amazing! I had no idea that the finale would be crazy like that. I knew that there would be a battle with the Volturi because of Renesmee, but wow. Holy crap. I got chills at the end and the atmosphere in the theater was amazing. We went on the 16th as a birthday present to me! But I wish I would've went to some of the showings on the 15th when they were showing all of the movies. I don't think I could have sat there that long, but I would've like to watch part 1 followed by part 2.

Bella is super hot as a vampire. Jacob seems to be getting cuter. And Renesmee, ah, adorable! And Edward is still Edward, still cute and weird. It was nice meeting all of the other vampires in this one. They really pulled together as a family. Bottom line is this movie was epic! You must go see it! If you haven't seen the previous Twilight movies, I'd recommend watching those too, I especially love the first one.

Do you love Twilight?
Maybe even hate it?
Have you seen this one?

Book Review: Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L. James

When literature student Anastasia Steele goes to interview young entrepreneur Christian Grey, she encounters a man who is beautiful, brilliant, and intimidating. The unworldly, innocent Ana is startled to realize she wants this man and, despite his enigmatic reserve, finds she is desperate to get close to him. Unable to resist Ana’s quiet beauty, wit, and independent spirit, Grey admits he wants her, too—but on his own terms.

Shocked yet thrilled by Grey’s singular erotic tastes, Ana hesitates. For all the trappings of success—his multinational businesses, his vast wealth, his loving family—Grey is a man tormented by demons and consumed by the need to control. When the couple embarks on a daring, passionately physical affair, Ana discovers Christian Grey’s secrets and explores her own dark desires.

**This book is intended for mature audiences**

My Thoughts:
So, finally my review of the infamous Fifty Shades of Grey... I've noticed that people either love this book or hate this book. And by love, I mean actually think it's one of the best books of 2012. And exactly the opposite for hate, dislikers really hate this book. They think it's a worthless piece of literature. I actually fall somewhere in the middle, but since you have to pick one side. I would say I actually did like this book, the others, not so much. But this is the review for the first book only, so I'll leave the other stuff out.

About the sex scenes... They are awkward, but Anastasia is an awkward person. And especially with how different her and Christian are, how could it have not been awkward?! To me, this is not 'erotica'... it's an adult romance book with kinda edgy sex and weird names for their private parts. But if you like a little of the kinky stuff, some of the sex when he ties her up and blind folds her is pretty hot in my opinion. Although nothing like Zane, which is some of the best/hottest erotica I've ever read.

Let's talk about Miss Anastasia. Anastasia's feelings and emotions were very realistic, she said that no one had ever peaked her interest before. So she'd never had a boyfriend or brought a guy home or been in love. I thought it was cute the way she liked him and was instantly smitten by him. But the fact that she is in college and has never had a boyfriend -is crazy unrealistic. Could it happen? Sure. They are still pure woman in this world, who would rather focus on school and her future than stupid boys. But you would assume those girls are nerds with no friends, and are possibly not beautiful. But that's not the case with her, so it actually is quite unrealistic for me.

Let's talk about Christian. No doubt he acts weird and you obviously know that something is going on with him, but let's face it: He is "OH MY GOD" kind of hot! Love or hate the book- you still will probably be obsessed with Christian Grey! He's so mysterious and intense, but he does get annoying at times. Especially with how 'powerful' he is, or rather- thinks he is. Christian is pretty intimidating... So the fact that the first few sex scenes were really awkward was fine with me, I think it fit perfectly. I also loved to read their emails, aside from the few really serious ones, they made me smile. They would also have catchy, creative subject titles that they would change every email. It was adorable.

I'm sure most of you know by now, that this is in fact fan fiction. It is based off Twilight. At first I didn't see it, but after watching this video, I totally saw it. I recommend watching the video after reading the book as it does have spoilers. So, I read somewhere that for publication: the title was changed, and a little of the writing was also. When I started reading the book, I didn't know that it was fan fiction, so I'm treating it as a real book. It was published and that's what it is to me.

There's just something about the writing in this book that drove me crazy:
1. Her subconscious- it was overused, the way she would talk about what it was saying to her or how it was standing or posing or making facial expressions at her. It was like huh? Let's be realistic here. Yes it helps describe how her subconscious was trying to help her read certain situations and emotions, but it was all the time!
2. Her inner goddess.. I was talking to my friend, who has read the books, and she says that the inner goddess and subconscious are different people. And I've read some reviews that said that they're the same. I honestly have no idea. She used both all the time. Maybe I just ran the two together. No sure.
3. And the way she describes the sex scenes. She has weird names for their private parts. But it could just be me, I guess I'm more of a come right out and say the word kind of person. So it bugged me a little.
I also used Fifty Shades for
one of my Swoon Thursdays.
