My Thoughts:
Sometimes, it happens rarely give the state of current authorship, but sometimes the film is better than the book.

I recently started dating again after my breakup and a friend decided to take me to see the film Cloud Atlas. I didn't know much about what I was going to see. So, I didn't have any real expectations from the movie. I wasn't prepared for the single most life altering film experience I had ever had.

The film begins slowly, but at the same time dives into a world of reality and fiction, past, present and future to give you a feel for what's in store. The films score is magical, it evokes feelings of utter sadness and loss, mixed with the angelic ting of hope. The film itself plays out like a symphony of words, images and thoughts.

Needless to say it was for me a life altering experience. I no longer thought my problems, my life, myself was something singular unto myself. But after seeing this film it became all to apparent to me that I am part of the past, the present and the future. That every decision I make will effect the world in some way no matter how minute. That every decision made before me has affected me and caused me to be who and what I am.

Cloud Atlas is 3 hours long but it feels like a blip of time because the view becomes so entangled with the action on screen. It is visual poetry and musical history. It is love, life, humanity, cruelty, death, loss, pain and hope. This film is more human than many of us could feign to ever be. I urge everyone to see it. Learn from it. Live it.

Movie Review: Hope Springs

Plot Summary:

Kay (Meryl Streep) and Arnold (Tommy Lee Jones) are a devoted couple, but decades of marriage have left Kay wanting to spice things up and reconnect with her husband. When she hears of a renowned couple's specialist (Steve Carell) in the small town of Great Hope Springs, she attempts to persuade her skeptical husband, a steadfast man of routine, to get on a plane for a week of marriage therapy. 

Just convincing the stubborn Arnold to go on the retreat is hard enough - the real challenge for both of them comes as they shed their bedroom hang-ups and try to re-ignite the spark that caused them to fall for each other in the first place.

My Thoughts:

This is a must see for Meryl Streep fans. I really love her, I think she is one of the most amazing actresses ever. This movie was however pretty sad because their marriage is getting boring and she desperately wanted to spice it up and help it out a little, but he is so old fashioned. He didn't want to go to therapy, he didn't want some random guy telling him what to do in his marriage. But it really worked out for the best.

It had it's serious moments and lots of funny moments. I think everyone should watch this movie. 

Reasons To Watch It:

- It has Meryl Streep.

- Who doesn't love old people in love?!

- Tommy Lee Jones still has it.

- It's a feel good film.

Movie Review: Vamps

Goody (Silverstone) and Stacy (Krysten Ritter) are addicted to the night life, clubbing, hooking up and always looking for the next thrill, all the while keeping a big secret-- they happen to be modern-day vampires.

But even with lifetimes of dating experience behind them, the duo realizes they still have a lot to learn about love when Stacy unexpectedly falls for the son of a vampire hunter, and Goody runs into the man of her dreams from decades earlier.

With their destinies at stake, the girls are faced with a difficult choice; give up their eternal youth for a chance at love, or continue to live their uncomplicated fabulously single lives forever.

My Thoughts:
This was a really cute movie. Alicia Silverstone and Krysten Ritter work very well together. It was funny and romantic, but more funny to me. The part about the technology was hilarious, cuz they didn't know how to work it. They kept all the regular myths about vampires and didn't add any weird ones, and I was very happy about that. Watching the movies made me wish that I was their friend, they were so happy and fun and care free. They made being vampires look like a lot of fun. Some of the special effects were not so good, but oh well.

Bottom Line:
-It's a good move.
-Really fun to watch.
-It has Dan Stevens in it!
-And I think most will enjoy it!

Plot Summary:
Set in the world of male strippers, Magic Mike is directed by Steven Soderbergh and stars Channing Tatum in a story inspired by his real life.

The film follows Mike (Tatum) as he takes a young dancer called The Kid (Pettyfer) under his wing and schools him in the fine arts of partying, picking up women, and making easy money.

My Thoughts: 
The movie literally had no point. If you wanna see some half naked men, cuz let's face it, they're not showing it all, then I guess you could watch this. The people who made this movie didn't really think past the male dancers turning on women, you can tell they tried to have a plot and stuff. But other than when Channing Tatum was dancing, because let's face it, he was the best and the hottest  my face was something like this: -__-

I will admit that there was some good music in some of their performances, but other than that the music was horrendous  And it looked like the other actors didn't really put effort into learning to 'strip' or dance 'pretty' for their roles. But Channing Tatum was really working it, too bad it was only like 10% of the movie, and the rest was crap. And from the previews, I expected their to be more of a love story behind the whole stripper part, but that was just lies. I was quite surprised to see Gabriel Iglesias in the movie. I went to one of his comedy shows and he is really funny, and he actually did really well playing a serious role. Nika already reviewed this movie, I should've listened to her, but c'mon, I just had to see Tatum shake it! You can view her review here.

Bottom Line:
-Channing Tatum is hot.
-He can dance his ass off.
-The rest sucks.
-And it's just plain weird to see Matthew McConaughey in a movie like this.

My Thoughts:
I thought this was going to be a sappy love story, but it really was great! When I first saw the trailer for this movie I was at the movies with my sister and we were like: "OMG! Who's that guy? Oh wow, dude, I think that's Zac Efron. No way! It can't be! Oh my god, it totally is. Man! He really grew up!" Haha. Our conversation really did go just like that. So I was excited when I finally got to watch it!

And he was really hot in this movie. He looked really cute as a soldier. And their sex scene was like wow! I didn't know he had it in him. Other than that it was a cute and really good story. It wasn't really deep. It had to do with war and her brother. Along with a little bit of her crazy ex husband thrown in. It's definitely a chick flick and I think most girls/women would love it!
