Bookish Goals For 2013

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly
meme held over at The Broke and the Bookish

This weeks topic is our top ten bookish goals for 2013.

1. Read at least 100 books.
Last year I read 71 books, but I'd really like to read at least 100, but I really want to read more than that.
2. Finish Harry Potter Series.
So far I've only read the first 3, I started on Goblet of Fire (#4), but some how got sidetracked. The books are still really interesting, especially since I haven't seen the movies or heard spoilers, so I have all this curiosity. I think I just secretly don't want to finish them, because then it will be over :(
3. Read a few classics.
Most people read classics in high school, I on the other hand was on independent study in high school. So I pretty much taught myself. And I think I missed out on a few classics that are most definitely worth reading. To name a few on my list: To Kill a Mockingbird, Pride and Prejudice, Wuthering Heights, The Diary of a Young Girl, Jane Eyre, and Dracula.
4. Read more books that are becoming movies...
I've really been lacking on these. I said I was going to read Perks of Being a Wallflower before it came out and I never did, I said that about Water for Elephants too... And eventually just gave up and watched the movie. I really need to stick to my goals. Here are some for example: City of Bones, Beautiful Creatures, Catching Fire, The Host, Uglies, and The Great Gatsby.
5. Stop judging books.
I judge all the time and I need to stop. I judge by the cover. By the title. Even by the synopsis and end up loving the book.

That's all I could think of for now...
So I suppose I only have 5...
What are some of you bookish goals?

Have a great day!

Top Ten Books I'd Want On A Deserted Island

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly
meme held over at The Broke and the Bookish

This weeks topic is the top ten books you'd
want
to have if you were stranded on a deserted island.

Since this is all just a thought, I hope you don't
mind if I put some series on my list and we can
all just pretend that I have a huge binder full
of all the books in that series :)

I'd have to bring the Harry Potter series because I'm only on book #4 and I'd love to finish the series and I think I could read it over and over again... Especially the first book.

I picked A Game of Thrones Series because they are HUGE books and I'm sure it would make it pretty fun and easy to pass all that time.

How could I ever live without my Walking Dead? I won't be able to get the new issues, being stuck on said island and such, but I re-read the hell out of the old ones.

I'm not quite sure why I picked this book, I suppose because it interested me a whole lot.

I could never live without Pidge and Travis! They were so perfect!

Think of a Number was a really really good suspense/murder mystery. The characters personalities were very deep and so real, and the suspense part was amazing. Hands down, the best suspense ever!

When I read Thirteen Reasons Why, I couldn't read it fast enough. But being on this island I could take it slow and just devour the hell out of this book for eternity.

Top Ten Series I Haven't Finished

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly
meme held over at The Broke and the Bookish

This weeks topic is the top ten series you haven't
finished for one reason or another.

I just started Vampire Academy, I'm not really into it yet. It seems good, so I'm hoping all the things I've heard about it will be true. And Across The Universe was great, I somehow just never got around to reading A Million Suns, and Shades of Earth will be released soon. So I really need to get on it!

I started the Harry Potter series last December I believe, and I'm currently on the fourth. I still like it, I think I just needed a break, but I never started reading them again. And The Hunger Games, I didn't like it as much as I thought I would. Especially with all the hype, I didn't think it was amazing, but I still want to finish the series.

Think of a Number was amazing! It was the perfect murder/mystery thriller. I couldn't read the pages fast enough, and then I just never got around to the second one. Uglies is one I haven't even started yet, but I have 3 of the books, so all I have to do is finally pick it up. One day...

The Maze Runner was another fabulous book, but again, I just never picked up the second one. I really need too, but I heard some things about the series going downhill after the first. So maybe that's what's holding me back. City of Bones is another that I've heard wonderful things about, but just haven't got it yet. I will soon though.

I loved Crank and Glass, but never got around to reading Fallout, and I kinda forgot what happened, so I plan on going back and reading the series from start to finish. Number is yet another that I think will be very interesting, but just haven't gotten around to starting it just yet. It's on my "up next" list though.

Then for some fun, I wanted to include a few manga/comic/graphic novel series I'd like to get started and/or finish!
Both Locke & Key and Scott Pilgrim vs The World I haven't started yet, but really need too. Locke & Key was recommended to me as something to read after I finished The Walking Dead graphic novels, which sadly has happened, so I plan on starting that very soon. And Scott Pilgrim, after watching the movie, which was awesome, I really wanted to read the books.

Emma is one that I don't really know much about, I saw it in a YouTube video and looked it up on Goodreads. It looks interesting, so we'll see how that goes, if I ever get there. Death Note has been amazing so far, I'm on volume 5 and I'm still really liking it.

What are your top ten
series you'd like to finish?
