My Thoughts:
I thought this was going to be a sappy love story, but it really was great! When I first saw the trailer for this movie I was at the movies with my sister and we were like: "OMG! Who's that guy? Oh wow, dude, I think that's Zac Efron. No way! It can't be! Oh my god, it totally is. Man! He really grew up!" Haha. Our conversation really did go just like that. So I was excited when I finally got to watch it!

And he was really hot in this movie. He looked really cute as a soldier. And their sex scene was like wow! I didn't know he had it in him. Other than that it was a cute and really good story. It wasn't really deep. It had to do with war and her brother. Along with a little bit of her crazy ex husband thrown in. It's definitely a chick flick and I think most girls/women would love it!

Do you remember young
Zac Efron? Isn't he cute?

-Jamie Chung
-Cung Le
-Byron Mann
-Daniel Wu
-Zhu Zhu

Release Date: November 2, 2012
DVD Release: Unknown

Plot Summary:
On the hunt for a fabled treasure of gold, a band of warriors, assassins, and a rogue British soldier descend upon a village in feudal China, where a humble blacksmith looks to defend himself and his fellow villagers.

My Thoughts:
About a week ago I went with my ex boyfriend to see a film by one of his favorite artists, the RZA. For those of you who do not know who RZA (that is pronounced Riz-ah) is I will do my best to explain. He is the badass Shaolin monk ass nigga who is the current head of hip-hop super group Wu-Tang Clan. Those fans of Rap surely have heard the name before or his alias Bobby Digital. Either way he's well known in the music community.

RZA is a multifaceted man. Not only does he produce music, he is a screenwriter, occasional actor, and most recently a director. His directorial debut The Man With The Iron Fists was, in my opinion a first-rate piece of cinema.  It harkens back to earlier grind house Kung-Fu films but with a touch of swag.

The music in the film, also done by RZA is of course amazing. Most of it is heavy beat and hip-hop based but it works well with the subject matter and cinematography. The film is one fluid kick ass piece of art.

The film was a collaborative effort between RZA, Quentin Tarantino, and Eli Roth. Roth, as always, brought the blood and gore to the picture. And I'm sure Tarantino was just there for moral support and to inject wildly unconventional cut-scenes, like he does in most of his own films. What ever the correct mixture of work and input these men make one helluva killer Kung-Fu cocktail for viewers to ingest.

I give the film five stars, go see it!

Faction Before Blood

Since I love Divergent so much, I thought I should finally take some time out to find what faction I really and truly belong to. We've all thought about it while reading the books. And most of the time just picking the most badass faction (Dauntless) or to be really different and wild-- Divergent. Although I don't completely fit in with one group, I have narrowed it down to two: Amity & Candor. I think I fit in more with Amity.

So one day I decided I should look up those quizzes that ask you a bunch of random questions and then tell you which faction you belong in. I took a good amount of them. I always got Amity or Candor, but I got Amity more. I did get Divergent once, but I disregarded that. You can also find faction wallpapers found here.

Some links to quizzes:

Also, if you take the
quiz on TheFandom.net,
your faction result is
included on your card.

Here's mine:

About Amity:

In general:
It means the Peaceful. You are at peace when everyone around you is getting along. You appreciate the arts and it is easy to make you laugh. A goal you may have is to find as much happiness as you can. You can be seen as indecisive and flaky but you can also be seen as warm and easygoing.

Definition:
Friendship; especially in regards to friendly relations between nations.

Purpose/Beliefs:
They value peace and friendship, and believe the world’s problems can be resolved by simply learning to understand your fellow citizens. They blame aggression for the problems in the world.

Clothing/Appearance:
Amity members dress comfortably in colors of red and yellow.

Location- Amity Sector:
Located in the outskirts of the city, where the train tracks end and there are no dilapidated buildings, only trees and fields and forests.

Contributions to the society/Jobs:
The society’s only artists, they love to sing and play instruments, they are also great counselors and caretakers, and the faction is responsible for the agricultural duties of the society.

Fun Facts:
They greet each other with a hug!

What faction are you in?
Have you read Divergent?
What did you think?

Have a great one!

Book Review: Heidi & the Kaiser by Selena Kitt

Goodreads - Amazon - B&N
Mousy little Heidi is a wanna-be designer who works as nothing more than a glorified go-fer for one of the largest and most well-known companies in the world of fashion.

When she accidentally stains CEO Warren Kaiser's pants, she gets two things she didn't expect—a spanking…and a job. Kaiser hires her as his assistant, and her “training” proves to be quite a test of surrender.

Warning: 18+ ONLY This title contains erotic situations, graphic language, spanking, domination, submission, and an office romance hot enough to leave hand prints!

My Thoughts:
So I was in a major reading slump before starting this book. I started reading Switch by Megan Hart, and by the synopsis it seemed really great, but it's not. I started looking for something that I knew would interest me. My sister actually introduced me to Selena Kitt, I had never heard of her up until a few months ago. I read one of her short stories called Hannah’s Choice, which I downloaded for free on iBooks and it's also free on Goodreads, and that wasn't very good. The description of the sex was good, but the storyline was just plain weird. So I decided to give her another chance.

With me being in that reading slump and everything, I wanted to find a book that was on the shorter side because who comes out of a slump reading a 400 page book? Not this girl. I had a little craving for some more erotica since finishing Reflected in You and decided to go through my Selena Kitt TBR list and this one sounded perfect.

I think I knew from the first few pages that I was going to LOVE this book... it just had that vibe that I was unknowingly looking for. Since the whole bdsm erotica fad has come into play... I’ve been looking for some real bdsm quality stuff. Although this is on the lighter side, the intensity of being told what to do is all there. And the sex in this book was very, very hot!

When she fell and tripped over his legs and messed up his pants I was thinking: "oh shit, here we go with another Christian Grey thing!" But no, hell no, this is way, way, way (a million times way) better. This short story is intense, ravishing, beautiful, and so sexy. Although Kaiser is described as a man with salt and pepper hair, that old man can rock my socks anyday!

I really liked Heidi, she was a really great submissive character, they don't really make em like that anymore! And Kaiser, oh my, he never backs down. And let’s face it: every female loves a strong male character. One person I didn't really care for was Heidi's friend Lenny, he was just a bit annoying and I felt like he needed to just go away, but in the end it all worked out very well. And I hated Andrea, what a hateful bitch she was; I just wanted to slap her so bad. And I’m not sure if Selena Kitt was trying to use the real Roberto Cavalli and just ended up misspelling his name, but I kept thinking that every time his name would appear, in this book it's spelled -Roberto Cavelli.

One more last thing is: I’m going to talk crap about the cover. Yes, it was published by a not so big company. But really?? The cover is almost horrible. I love the position the models are in, because it's obviously in the book a lot. But like I said before, Kaiser is described as having salt and pepper hair, so obviously he is older. And the model is what? Like 30? And I think I remember Heidi being described as a blonde, and when she gets her hair done she says she got more blonde highlights, but the girl on the cover has a dark blonde, but more on the light brown side, color of hair... I just wish they would have thought more about it. Also, I do believe this is the second cover, the first one is also inaccurate... if you read the book and then look up the cover, you'll see why.

Overall I gave it 5 stars, I couldn't really find anything wrong with it. It was perfect and exactly what I needed to get out of that reading slump. And it's a very quick read at only 152 pages, but let me tell you, a whole lot happens in those pages. If you're into the whole dom/sub thing, I’m sure you will love this one. Definitely give it a try.

Have you read any Selena Kitt?
Ever heard of this book?
Have any erotica recommendations?

Have a great one everybody!

Beautiful Disaster Special Signed Edition

Waiting On Wednesday #14!
"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

I'm sure most of us know that this is not a new release, but there is something very special about this release. For one, it's hardcover, which I believe was not previously offered. And two, it's signed!! Yes, signed! The book jacket is also a little different than the original, it's pearlized and foily looking. Only 5,000 were printed and signed by Jamie McGuire. She also said on her website that they are really signed, not stamped or copied!

I already read this book and I absolutely loved it. I have recommended it to everybody I know that reads, and even some people that don't read regularly. If you haven't read it yet, you most definitely should. You can read my review for it here.

Synopsis:

INTENSE. DANGEROUS. ADDICTIVE.

Abby Abernathy is a good girl. She doesn't drink or swear, and she has the appropriate number of cardigans in her wardrobe. Abby believes she has enough distance from the darkness of her past, but when she arrives at college with her best friend, her path to a new beginning is quickly challenged by Eastern University’s Walking One-Night Stand.

Travis Maddox, lean, cut, and covered in tattoos, is exactly what Abby wants—and needs—to avoid. He spends his nights winning money in a floating fight ring, and his days as the ultimate college campus charmer. Intrigued by Abby’s resistance to his appeal, Travis tricks her into his daily life with a simple bet. If he loses, he must remain abstinent for a month. If Abby loses, she must live in Travis’s apartment for the same amount of time. Either way, Travis has no idea that he has met his match.

Tell me, what are you
waiting on this week?
Is this edition on your
to-buy list? I hope so!

Have a great day!

Top Ten Books I'd Want On A Deserted Island

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly
meme held over at The Broke and the Bookish

This weeks topic is the top ten books you'd
want
to have if you were stranded on a deserted island.

Since this is all just a thought, I hope you don't
mind if I put some series on my list and we can
all just pretend that I have a huge binder full
of all the books in that series :)

I'd have to bring the Harry Potter series because I'm only on book #4 and I'd love to finish the series and I think I could read it over and over again... Especially the first book.

I picked A Game of Thrones Series because they are HUGE books and I'm sure it would make it pretty fun and easy to pass all that time.

How could I ever live without my Walking Dead? I won't be able to get the new issues, being stuck on said island and such, but I re-read the hell out of the old ones.

I'm not quite sure why I picked this book, I suppose because it interested me a whole lot.

I could never live without Pidge and Travis! They were so perfect!

Think of a Number was a really really good suspense/murder mystery. The characters personalities were very deep and so real, and the suspense part was amazing. Hands down, the best suspense ever!

When I read Thirteen Reasons Why, I couldn't read it fast enough. But being on this island I could take it slow and just devour the hell out of this book for eternity.

Did you do a TTT?
What are your Top Ten?
Leave a link to yours
so I can check it out.

Have a great one!

Disney Sequels: Pocahontas II: Journey to the New World

When I was a kid I loved Disney movies, in fact I still do (especially now that they're Disney-Pixar). They are absolutely classic, epic, must see movies for everyone!

And then... Disney got carried away with the sequels... So, in this post I'm going to talk about one of those sequels, that probably shouldn't have been made.

And to all the Disney lovers, please don't take this the wrong way. I absolutely love Disney and I'm not bashing them in any way. I'm just simply stating my opinion.

[IMDB - Rotten Tomatoes - Amazon]

Plot Summary:
Pocahontas sets off on a journey to England with Meeko, Flit, and Percy. Hearing rumors of John Smith's death, Pocahontas tries to prevent war and battle.

VHS Release: August 4, 1998
DVD Release: September 5, 2000

Cast:
-Irene Bedard as Pocahontas
-Jim Cummings as King James
-Donal Gibson as John Smith
-Linda Hunt as Grandmother Willow
-Russell Means Powhatan
-David Ogden Stiers as Ratcliffe
-Billy Zane as John Rolfe
-Jean Stapleton as Mrs Jenkins

My Thoughts:
As you can see this is for the sequel to Disney's wonderful Pocahontas, unfortunately the sequel sucked.  I don't know if there's a better way to put it... I'd probably be lying. The bottom line is this movie was disappointing. It was no where near as fun and vibrant as Pocahontas.

This sequel is about Pocahontas going to England to try and prevent a war from happening, but all that ends up happening is them changing her. They make her face white, dress her in horrible costumes, take her very symbolic necklace, and sing really crappy songs. I mean this movie should have never been made. Pocahontas was fabulous and I feel like they ruined my wonderful memory of it. Now all I can think about is this piece of crap they call a sequel. If you don't want the movie spoiled for you, I would suggest stopping here, because my rant is about to begin...

And the whole John Smith thing... They really had to use Mel Gibson's younger brother? Like Mel Gibson couldn't come over really quick and record a few lines? They act like John Smith was a big part of this movie... He wasn't... It was all that other white boy. Trying to swoon Pocahontas and teach her how to dance and take her to some ball. And then when John Smith came back and Pocahontas saw him, she looked shocked, but she didn't really seem to care that he was actually alive. She didn't seem to remember all the love they were feeling in the first movie. And she didn't even go with him. She stayed with the other guy... I COULD NOT EFFING BELIEVE THAT!!! And yes, yes I did have to do the shouty caps.

And the music.. gag! And the songs.. barf! What the hell happened Disney?? Where's the love? The romance... The magic? The happy ending that we all wanted Pocahontas and John Smith to have? I guess I'll just have to stick to the first movie and make up the happy ending in my head. It worked fine all these years, I should have never watched the sequel...

I found this gorgeous fan art,
I just thought I'd share..

So, tell me... Did you
watch this sequel?
What did you think?

MSMC #4: Grown Ups

This is just a thing I created for myself as a sort of challenge. There are a lot, and I mean a lot, of movies that people would call "must see movies" that I have not seen. So whenever I watch one of the movies on my must see list I'll do a post on it and tell if it really is a "must see". And hopefully they are all wonderfully epic movies :)

If you have any suggestions on movies I should put on that list, please leave a comment and tell me about it!

Plot Summary:
Thirty years after graduating from high school, five former basketball teammates gather at the lake house where they celebrated their biggest victory to mourn the passing of their late coach. Over the course of the Fourth of July weekend, the five friends realize that just because they've all grown up and started families doesn't mean that they've lost that old spark. Adulthood is what you make of it, and no one at the lake house is eager to be the grown-up of the gang.

Release Date: June 25, 2010
DVD Release: November 9, 2010

Cast:

Favorite Scenes:
-The tree rope.
-Fixing the car.
-The water park.
-The arrow in the foot.
-The basketball game & fireworks.

My Thoughts:
I don't know why I never watched this movie. Everybody was talking about it when it came out, I heard it was good and hilarious and all these wonderful things. Now I finally see why... If you haven't watched this movie yet, you need too.

I thought it was going to be mostly all jokes, but it wasn't. It's actually a really good family movie. And you know those parts in movies when you want certain characters to be better or ahead of others, so bad stuff happens to them and then you feel horrible. Stuff like that never happened. And I loved it, because it really kept it an all around good movie. I was happy the entire movie, there were several laugh out loud moments, but mostly just happy.

I guess I was in need of this movie, because I honestly can't find anything wrong with it. I loved all the family things all of them did, especially because they showed how a lot of kids are now days. All consumed by cell phones, iPod's and video games. It was nice to see good ole fashioned outside family fun. It's making me want to take my kid out and have some real fun.

I really loved all the jokes they made towards each other. They were really good jokes. The ones that you would say "Ooooooooo" to, but nobody ever really got offended and that really kept the movie light and didn't cause any conflict.

Screenshots :)

So, the question I always ask
in my Must See Movie posts...
Was it epic?! I'd say YES!

If you haven't seen it, you must
go borrow/buy/rent it soon!
I really think it's a movie that
the whole family will enjoy!

Have you seen it? What'd you think?
Leave a comment and let's talk! :)
